IMPORTANT NOTE
!! THIS IS WORK IN PROGRESS !!

THIS IS ONLY A DEMO VERSION
its purpose is to show the potential of the concept of GaliLEO
IT DOES NOT PRODUCE ANY USEFUL RESULTS

This work was born thanks to the collaboration between CNUCE-CNR
(IT), CSELT (IT), ENST (FR) and UPN (ES). It was partially funded
by CNR for the "5%" project and by the European action COST 253.
Being it a non trivial task, its development is currently subject to
further fundings. A proposal for funding was submitted to the
"Agenzia 2000" CNR project for developing the core simulator and
modules for handover management, satellite access and traffic
  generators.

Version 0.2 of GaliLEO is now available for download. It was tested on Linux (Suse and Debian distributions) and on Windows 95 with the Java Runtime Environment 1.3. However, it should run flawlessly on other systems.

Have a look at the README and INSTALL files for further information about how to install GaliLEO.

You can either download it as a jar file (which is the preferred way if you plan only to run GaliLEO) or download the sources.

Downloading the jar file

  1. Download the jar file galileo-0.2.jar
  2. Donwload the configuration files (config_samples-0.2.zip or config_samples-0.2.tgz). These archives contain also a the README and INSTALL files.

Downloading the Sources

  1. Download the sources (galileo-0.2.zip or galileo-0.2.tgz).
  2. Donwload the configuration files (config_samples-0.2.zip or config_samples-0.2.tgz). These archives contain also a the README and INSTALL files.

Unpacking the sources archive creates a GaliLEO directory.

We still would like to hear from you !

In order to prioritise the coming efforts on GaliLEO, we would like to have your impressions on GaliLEO with a special emphasis on its weaknesses -- well, right, there are a lot of them, but the major ones i.e. what are the major obstacles if you would plan to use GaliLEO.
